Thin Places, Thick Places Day 9

Thin Places, Thick Places (Series)
Day 9.
Heroism. Bravery. Sacrifice.
73 years ago, the war took a turn. The "dark shadow" overtaking Europe seemed impenetrable. Was Hitler and his evil agenda going to snuff out the light and conquer the world?
He might have, had it not been for the unspeakable bravery and sacrifice of the Allied Forces at Omaha and Utah beaches on the Northern coast of France (Normandy). Powerfully referred to as D-Day, June 6th changed the course of history, seventy three years ago!
I'm posting a powerful speech/tribute given by President Reagan (just focus on the subject matter if you don't like Reagan) in honor of the men who landed on that beach.
When I booked the France leg of our international adventure I was wooed by Paris. Yet, the voices of the past called me to be closer to Omaha/Utah beaches. As an American, it is an important pilgrimage. So, I booked an airbnb an hour from Paris and an hour from Omaha Beach.
We will go and silently honor the indescribable bravery of the men who died and who overtook that place, to defeat evil.
Their voices cry out to be heard. They call us to rally our own bravery, heroism, and sacrifice to defeat the dark shadow that seems to be overtaking the world at THIS time...terrorism. Let us allow ourselves to be inspired by their example.
Please take 13 minutes to listen to the 40th anniversary of D-Day speech, below.
To be continued...
