Thin Places, Thick Places (Series)
Day 4.
Thin on the thickness today. Abundant thinness.
At long last, Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins and Co., you did a terrific job. The film inspired me as a lover of action films and as a woman who would LOVE to write and direct action films. There was a tenderness and kiss-ass-ness in equal measure. Not an easy thing to do. Plenty of “thin place” moments during the experience.
Most notably, upon exiting the theater after viewing said film, the brightest and most joy-inducing double rainbow I’ve ever seen illuminated above us. It felt like some form of confirmation that it is ok to be a tender warrioress. It is ok to follow the road that is paved ahead of you, and to be brave.
FURTHERMORE, the abundant thinness was punctuated by the fact I was able to share such sacred poignancy with my two young and budding Wonder Women, and a Wonderous Woman friend! Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins, and Rainbows. Yes, call it silly if you will but those are some “thin places” right there, for me.
