Thin Places, Thick Places (Series)
Day 10.
But how will I sweat??
Thick Place: The sudden realization that my sanity-giving cardio workout is something I am UNABLE to do overseas. I've become a rebounding addict (it's a mini-trampoline). 6 weeks, no rebounding? I shudder at the thought.
It's an exercise that is easy on my chronically injured ankle, makes me sweat, makes me feel balanced and happy, LOUD pop-music through my earbuds motivates, and I feel like I'm flying.
BUT UH OH!!! I can't bring my 42" (across) trampoline on the plane, can I?? This. Is. Not. Good.
Today, I settled on a solution. It's time to start running. In addition to my oh-so-challenging and rewarding Mat and Kitchen Pilates workouts, running for 15-20 minutes or so will be a fine thing. I shall also do my RESISTANCE BANDS. Booyah.
But WAIT. I can't leave my kids by themselves at airbnbs throughout foreign countries while I jog by myself!!! That's just foolish.
So...today I purchased a couple pair of running shoes. Ms. A and Mr. J already had decent runners. We will ALL RUN...TOGETHER!
I'll even see if I can rally Agent Shades to accompany us.
Problem solved. Today, with 8 days remaining until lift-off, we did our first mom/kids run. It was...it was pretty good. I had to do a little cheering on, but it was a good time.
To be continued...
